Our Love Story

In July of 1995, Nancy & Dan met on a discussion board called "Northern Virginia Lovers“ (NVL). They talked for hours every night, sometimes until 3:00 am, for the first few weeks. On August 3, 1995, they met in person at one of the organized outings for NVL at the Bombay Bicycle Club restaurant in Alexander, VA. 

In 1996, after Nancy was laid off from her job, Dan was able to get her a contactor position at EDS where he worked. It turned into a full-time position. They have been on many adventures together and met a lot of people from all different walks of life during those years 11 years. 

They took a three (3) year break due to Dan’s drinking problems. It was the hardest decision Nancy had made to leave him. It took him more than a year after that for him to hit rock bottom and admit he had a problem. He moved to Florida to his brother’s house after hitting rock bottom. With his brother's support, Dan worked hard to become sober and harder to remain sober. 

 
Nancy saw a post on Myspace about Dan's sobriety anniversary. She was surprised by that information as they hadn’t spoken since the split. She messaged her congratulations. to Dan. 

 
They began talking after that and found their way back to each other in 2009. Nancy worked from home so the decision to move to Florida to continue their love story was an easy one.

 
Dan is now 19 years sober. We are all very proud of his resolute attitude to remain sober. 

Dan retired due to health issues in 2018 and Nancy retired in March 2022. Now here they go on another adventure.
